Para table tennis is a full part of the sport in Saskatchewan and on the national pathway. Para athletes compete both in our mainstream tournaments – classified into Para events where offered – and in dedicated Para competitions run through Table Tennis Canada and the ITTF. Here’s how it fits together, and where the nearest big events are.
In August 2026 the ITTF brings two international Para events to Spokane, Washington – the closest world-ranking Para table tennis has come to Saskatchewan in years. Well worth a look for athletes, families, and anyone curious to watch elite Para sport.

Event details →Many sanctioned events across the West – including the Manitoba Circuit – offer a Para category, and Para athletes are welcome in open rating divisions too. Every result still counts toward your national TTCAN rating. Check each event’s entry form for its Para offering.
Table Tennis Canada runs the Canadian Para Championships and selects athletes for international competition, where players are grouped by classification (wheelchair classes 1–5, standing classes 6–10, and class 11). These are the pathway to the Parapan Am Games and Paralympics.
Para events group athletes by a classification number based on impairment, so competition is fair. If you’re getting started, the office can point you to Table Tennis Canada’s Para program and help you find your path in. Get in touch and we’ll walk you through it.
For mainstream out-of-province events, Para athletes are eligible for the TTSASK travel subsidy on exactly the same basis as any other member – see Subsidized Tournaments. Dedicated national and international Para events are funded through Table Tennis Canada’s Para channels; the office can help you connect with them.
