Running a sanctioned tournament is one of the best things a club can do for its community – and TTSASK makes it straightforward. You bring the venue and the volunteers; we bring the sanctioning, the software, the draw, and a referee. Here's how it works.
Any affiliated club, school, or community group can host a TTSASK-sanctioned tournament. Whether it's a first small local open or a returning annual event, the office will help you get it right.
A sanctioned tournament is a partnership. Here's who brings what.
We sanction your event under TTSASK & Table Tennis Canada, so every match counts toward players’ national TTCAN ratings. No sanctioning fee for affiliated clubs.
Your tournament is listed on the TTSASK season calendar and promoted to members across the province.
We provide the tournament software and prepare the draw, so seeding and scheduling are handled properly.
A qualified referee oversees the event and keeps play running to the rules.
Need more tables, nets, or barriers? TTSASK can loan equipment for a fee – ask the office for current rates and availability.
Sanctioned events run under TTSASK’s coverage through the Sask Sport Group Insurance Program (administered by AON). We can provide a certificate of insurance for your venue on request.
A gym, hall, or club space with room for the tables and players – you know your community’s best spot.
Local hands to set up, run the desk, and help the day go smoothly. Umpires are usually drawn from your volunteers.
Promotion in your community, welcoming players, and the on-the-day logistics.
You set and collect your own entry fees to cover your costs.
Email the office with your idea, your venue, and a target date – as early as you can.
We confirm the date on the calendar, set the format, and prepare the software and the draw with you.
Your volunteers run the day with our referee on hand; we help with anything that comes up.
Results are submitted so every match updates players' national TTCAN ratings.
Reach out as early as possible – at least about a month ahead. That gives everyone reasonable time to open registration, build the draw, and prepare properly. Earlier is always better, especially for larger events.
